25th Week of Clubs, Groups and Projects
April 15, 2024 - April 19, 2024

From the 15th to the 19th of April, the Jaime Moniz Secondary School organizes the 25th Week of Clubs, Groups and Projects, which mobilizes a large part of the educational community in a tribute to the expression of creativity and the interaction between the School and the Family. The inaugural ceremony, this Monday, at 11:30 am, will be attended by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque.
The opening of this Week includes a show with the main theme “Hand in hand…”, with great creativity and animation that aims to praise the School-Family binomial, given that the central motto of the Week is “School is Family”. Therefore, “in an increasingly fragmented world, the union between school and family becomes increasingly vital for the integral development of children and young people. Through dance, theater, music, reading and multimedia, the show “Hand in Hand…” celebrates this essential relationship, exploring the different bonds that form between students, parents, teachers and the school community. Through art, the show proposes a constructive dialogue about the challenges and opportunities of education in the contemporary world, inspiring the public to seek solutions to build a better future for young people”.

Before the show, the digital exhibition “Escola é Família” will be open to the public at Largo do Museu.
25 years of extra-curricular events
This week, which promises to bring an enriching experience, will be filled with the contribution of all the school's Clubs, Groups and Projects, with the participation of the entire educational community and, also, with the presence of invited official entities.
The event will feature live performances, dance, music and theater presentations, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, debates (in the most diverse areas) and the “Vozes do Liceu” Competition, providing spectators with a truly immersive cultural week. Local talents will have the opportunity to shine, sharing their gifts and passions.
The message of solidarity conveyed will celebrate the power of collaboration and unity in the school community, associating the forces of the past with those of the present. This collaborative artistic moment will therefore feature the presence of the Theater Club – O Moniz – Carlos Varela; Dance Club “DancEn?gma”; Liceu Reading Club, Madeiran Guitar and Chordophones, an opportunity to watch incredible performances by talented students, teachers and staff.
The cultural event will close with the traditional golden key, the “Vozes do Liceu” competition, scheduled for April 19th.
