Field trip to Berlin 2024
December 6 - December 13
The “Field Trip to Berlin” project, which started in the 2009-2010 academic year and was promoted by teachers Marco Rebelo and Isabel Barros, was born from the interest and motivation of students in a German class who wanted a unique experience of linguistic and cultural immersion . In recent years, this project has been extended to students from other courses at our school.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, we organize the 12th Edition of this project, because we believe that the city of Berlin, rich in history and culture, provides a unique experience, which will forever be marked in the lives of the students who participate in it.
Through the exploration of emblematic sites such as the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall, the Reichstag, the Memorial to the Jews Killed in Europe and the East Side Gallery, among others points of interest, students will have an immersive experience in German and European history. This experience provides them with a more comprehensive understanding of the political, social and cultural transformations that defined today's Europe, in addition to the development of values and life skills.
The preparation for this field trip, scheduled for next December, began in the previous school year with the dissemination of the project among the school community and the holding of several informative meetings with those in charge of education, where all the details were shared. important.
The group will be limited to 20 students, ensuring a more personalized and organized experience. Aware that the cost of the trip can represent a challenge for some families, the organization offers the possibility of raising funds through the sale of raffle tickets, helping to alleviate the financial effort necessary to make this dream a reality.
There are still five vacancies for next December's visit. Interested students can contact the teachers responsible for the project via email at viagemaberlim@jaimemoniz.com.
