Escola UNESCO awards prizes for the “Academic Rhymes” Competition
On April 24th, the UNESCO School Project, led by teachers Alda Santos and Alice Moniz, handed out prizes to the winners of the “Academic Rhymes: Multidisciplinary Poetry” Competition. The competition's target audience was students and all teachers at the school and consisted of creating a poem about a subject from the student's curriculum, or from the teachers' subject.
The winners were determined after voting on the official social networks of the Project and the School (Instagram and Facebook). Therefore, we now list the winners: Honorable Mention for the poem “A Língua, a nossa pátria”, by Carla Martins, Portuguese teacher; 3rd
Place for the poem “A Mente de um Estudante” by Gustavo Teles (10.03); 2nd Place, the poem “Resolução de Problemas” by Natacha Pestana (10.05); 1st Place, “Amor(ologia) Molecular", by Briana Mei (10.05).
The teachers in charge of the project thank all participants for their dedication, commitment and creativity. They would also like to express the following thanks: to the Executive Board for publicizing the competition and respective poems on the school's official social networks, as well as for the certificates issued; to teacher Carla Martins for providing the space and the event “10ª Troca de Livros” for the presentation of the winners; to the companies/entities that collaborated with this initiative by providing the prizes awarded, namely: Direção Regional da Cultura; Scorpio Madeira and Ideco Design.
