“Liceu” organizes Erasmus+ mobility “A Different View of the World”
In the week of April 8th to 12th, five students and one of the coordinators of the Erasmus+ project “A Different View of the World”, from Escola Secundária Jaime Moniz, participated in a mobility within the scope of the project, in the city of Heraklion, on the island of Crete, Greece.
Despite not being able to board on the scheduled date, due to constraints caused by adverse weather conditions at Madeira airport, the participants still managed to enjoy a few days of the activity program. Students and teachers from Portugal, Croatia, Italy, Poland and Greece participated in photography workshops, group work, competitions, various presentations and study visits. The mobility program included visits to the island of Spinalonga, the ruins of the Palace of Knossos, the village of Fodele and the city of Heraklion.
During this week, participants had the opportunity to learn new things, work collaboratively and be in direct contact with new cultures and new realities. Everyone, without exception, had unforgettable experiences and made friends for life.
In the end, it became clear that this type of experiences plays an extremely important role in the integral development of students, allowing them to broaden their horizons and providing them with practical knowledge about the world and the cultural diversity that surrounds them.
