Student from Escola Secundária Jaime Moniz qualified for the 3rd round of the Biology Olympics
Student Vítor Rodrigues, from class 12 of year 11 at Escola Secundária Jaime Moniz, was qualified for the 3rd round of the Portuguese Biology Olympiads (OPB). After the second round, the student was selected among the ten best 11th grade students, nationally, who participated in the Olympics. The next round will take place from April 19th to 21st and will take place at INIAV and ITQB, research institutions based in Oeiras.
One of the main objectives of OPB is to stimulate students' interest in Biology, in particular by fostering interest in practical, laboratory and experimental teaching in this area of knowledge, and bringing the University closer to secondary education, introducing concepts and practices that facilitate knowledge of the student to the reality of higher education.
