“Liceu” students go on study visit to Berlin

Twenty-five students from Escola Secundária Jaime Moniz, accompanied by teachers Marco Rebelo and Isabel Barros, participate, this week, in the eighth edition of the study visit to Berlin, as part of an educational project started in 2011.

Initially aimed at German students, this project was expanded to include students from other courses. The objectives of the trip are clear: improve language skills in German, develop intercultural competence through contact with other cultures and deepen knowledge about modern European history, with a special focus on Berlin and Germany.

The program in Berlin is diverse and complete. It includes visits to places of great historical and cultural importance, such as the German Parliament and the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the Holocaust memorial, the Television Tower and the Olympic stadium.

On the other hand, visits to Madame Tussaud's Museum, the Sea & Life Aquarium and the Berlin Zoo provide moments of leisure and fun. The visit becomes even more special with a visit to the traditional Christmas markets spread across the city.
